Over a cup of coffee, I told my friend of the idea that humanity might have met its first extra-human intelligence already. It is one of those playful theories we play around with every now and then.

But one part of it contained, a notion that with ten billion people connected to the internet, it might be possible to create an entity that seems intelligent, but isn’t. That replies like a human, without being conscious of being human.
